Shinjuku Buildings

The architecture of Shinjuku area in Tokyo is one dominated by skyscrapers and such monoliths of the square angle and the uncompromising materials stone, steel and glass. Their force is similar to that of a black hole — a gravity of such magnitude that once caught, one cannot break free.

     I am not one to worship either the 90° angle or the purity of solid materials covering vast surfaces, but through the camera eye I was hypnotized by the pure weight of these buildings, never getting enough of this pattern of petrified rectangles, of something ultimately opposite to what nature produces — and of such size too.
